For most people, a habituated program of insecurity, a current of fear, distrust and anxiousness often runs a subdued dialogue in the background of awareness. This dialogue is uncertain about the future, unsure and mistrusting of what appears to be showing up in the moment, focused on how things are wrong or people are wrong, and questions the moment with a perpetual sense of un-ease. The theme being that: something is wrong and if it isn’t wrong right now it’s going to go wrong later.

Even when something extraordinary shows up, something that even slightly challenges your version of what can happen in your life for the better, with this lens activated and in place you doubt or distrust it. You look at it and think “this is too good to be true”. You wait for it to go away or fall apart. You wait for it to stop working out. You wait for it to blow up. There’s this pervasive inner dialogue, a centuries old program that looks at the world, that looks at life, through the lens of fear – “I don’t trust this, I don’t know what this is, I’m not sure about this, this can’t be as good as it seems.”
This is the programming you want to bypass. You want to tune into yourself daily to let go of this pattern of insecurity that has become the conditioned undercurrent of waking consciousness. Neurons that fire together, wire together. This is a learned program. This is a memorized pattern of thinking and feeling, and because of that you can un-memorize it and memorize something different.
To do that, you have to first identify the content of this background chatter and then engage with yourself deliberately to bring about a change in energy, a change in neurology, a change in mindset, a change in your emotional chemistry. You have to re-write the program into something that is more useful to you. This is where the value of asking open-ended questions is revealed.
When You Ask:
What is my premise for this human experience?
What have I concluded it is capable of becoming?
What am I thinking about my environment or my life right now?
What am I feeling about my life or my environment right now?
What is the ticker tape of my consciousness saying currently?
You direct your awareness inward. By directing your awareness to scan your own internal environment, you'll begin to make the unconscious conscious, you'll begin to bring the light of awareness into these dark corners of your unconscious mind where these old learned or inherited narratives are stored.
Your life and your being have an intelligence about them that is beyond what your insecurity-based conditioning can wrap itself around. There is an intricate preciseness, a flawless exactness to the way your life and your being unfold and evolve. This intricate, precise, flawless and exact intelligence is the life that is living you, forming you moment after moment, and expressing through you and as you. To bring yourself into harmony with it, to bring yourself into opening to its flawless direction, you want to begin to ask questions that direct and redirect your awareness into noticing this inherent magnificent intelligence that is at the base of every single one of your moments.
Let go of assuming you know what’s going to happen next. Let go of assuming you know the ultimate meaning of the patterns and moments showing up in your view. Instead explore your world with curiosity and openness. The curious mind is the mind that asks questions. It steps into the perspective of not knowing, and in that not knowing readies itself for a greater knowing to shine through. Ready and open yourself to a greater knowing in every moment. This is how you want to orient yourself to make the most of and access the levels of mind that are greater than your conditioning.
You want to ask the questions that will bring you into harmony to this perfection that you know and live as life.
What else can go right in my life?
How else will I be blessed and nourished by my life?
Feel the immediate space of release and openness these questions bring you into. They take you out of the illusion of conditioned knowing and open you up to receive those energies this intelligent life design has orchestrated on your behalf that are greater than your conditioned knowing. As you do this again and again, you'll retrain your mind to live from a background chatter of trust, of security, of connection, of positively resonant expectation and anticipation.
