As a being made up of light and information, energy in motion, the rate of your vibration or the flow of information and energy through your being is always under your control. You can always bring yourself deliberately into a state of balance, equanimity, coherence, and harmony regardless of what's going on around you.
Here are five easy do-it-yourself ways to bring yourself into a state of coherence, a state of energetic harmony, in any given moment.
Release through Meditation: meditation is a really great way to get back to your center and restore your energy flow back to its natural rhythm. As you lift off of the thoughts you are thinking, you will release whatever resistance you've built up and restore the physical system back to balance. Find a quiet place for yourself and set your intention to release resistance, then do any one of the many meditation techniques available to you. If you don't have a meditation practice, check out youtube videos or the various sources on the web that give detailed instructions on various meditative practices. You'll easily find the one that's right for you.
Release through Movement: any kind of physical movement is a great way to temporarily release resistance. Walking, yoga, or any kind of physical exercise will take attention out of your discordant thoughts and flow it into the body instead thereby weakening your identification or constriction around the arising thoughts.
Release through Music: music is a wonderful way to experience release. Turn on your favorite uplifting song and let it take you out of your current train of thought.
Release through Words: journaling is always a great way to process your thoughts and refocus your mind in the direction you want it to focus. Anytime you sit down to write, not only do you organize your thoughts and get a clearer picture of what's really going on internally, but you also concentrate your energy in one direction rather than scattering it in the endless thoughts that spring up.
Release through Energy Work: there are several energy-based therapies like Sound Healing, Energy Healing (a variety of modalities), Acupuncture, and other vibrational medicine models where a practitioner works on your physical body to release any built-up blockages. Massages are also a wonderful way to release any resistance or blockages you've built up in your body.
Some of the quick energy pick-me-ups are about where you're putting your attention, or rather where you're not. Whenever a situation arises, the mind often automatically begins to fire thought after thought, and the more you put your attention on these thoughts (thereby energizing them) the more like-thoughts you draw to yourself until you just can't stop thinking about the situation. The point is to stop thinking. Really. Withdraw from your habitual reactive tendency so that you can take control of your mental patterns rather than having them control you. The power to return to balance and harmony is always within you.
