How do you appraise yourself in your life? What is your sense of value and worth right now in all aspects of your experience – in your relationships, in your career, in your creativity? What is that sense based on? Are you valuable and worthy just as you are? Do you matter just as you are? Or do you need to be something else, achieve more, generate more, do more, be "better than" to feel like you have value and worth in life, in the world?
One of the more critical explorations of your psychological evolution is your relationship to value and worth.
Where are you holding on to a limited image of self?
Where you are rationalizing yourself into a “smaller” goal or a more “doable” goal is where you have some expansion in consciousness to achieve. It’s when you’re holding on to a limited image of yourself that you start rationalizing and talking yourself into more comfortable goals and intentions.
Where have you borrowed someone else’s belief? Whose narrative have you attached yourself to? Whose story have you unconsciously made your own? Whose reality have you moved yourself into? Every story from someone else that you allow yourself to resonate with on any level has the potential to automatically become included in your own vibration.
If there’s any aspect or event in your experience causing you distress or any level of discomfort, there is likely a pattern of thought running that you’ve rehearsed and continue to rehearse. One of the first steps to making a shift is recognizing what that pattern is and labeling it as a program that needs to change. Creating awareness around what programs you are running sets you up for freedom from those programs. When you recognize a belief to be a belief you’re that much closer to shifting out of the old and into the new.
You have probably heard the phrase “you are not a human doing, you are a human being” emphasizing the value of being in Being, being in the integrated awareness of yourself as awareness, as pure being, as undifferentiated consciousness. There’s also its mirror, “don’t just sit there and meditate, get up and do something”. Like all things in life, there is a fine balance to achieve between human activity, human doing-ness, and being centered, being grounded in Stillness. There is a balance to be found between being the doer in your experience and being a door to your experience – both of which are valuable aspects of your wholeness.
