For everything showing up meaningfully in your reality, taking full ownership of how it’s you who is making it matter moment after moment is a key part of stepping into your full power. It’s you who makes something matter when you think about it, talk about it, replay it in your mind over and over, and bring it up at every opportunity. You are the meaning maker. What you give attention to, what you focus on, what you create individual and shared awareness around is what becomes a meaningful experience in your reality. If it’s meaningful, it’s because you’ve made it that way.
It is you who perpetuates a narrative, a frequency range, a current of energy within yourself. It is you who tunes into and anchors certain qualities of images, sensations, and sounds in your experience. The only person responsible and in charge of the realities you experience and anchor is you. If there is some form, some pattern in your experience that you have no desire to include in your waking world, your first task is to begin to dissociate from it energetically. Stop running and re-running the thought patterns associated with it. Uproot and discard whatever belief has you playing and replaying, participating and co-creating with that pattern. Stop yourself from calling and recalling memories associated with it. Stop sharing the story of it with those in your environment. Stop creating shared awareness around it. For it to stop materializing in your reality, it has to stop mattering to you. It is materializing in your reality because it is something that still matters to you, that still holds meaning, relevancy, and validity to you.
A belief is just a thought you’re thinking until it matters to you – then it is your truth, your reality, your normal. For as long as you’re still generating a frequency of any kind around that pattern, for as long as you’re still carrying a charge around it, a judgement, an attachment, an avoidance, any kind of emotionalized energy, then you’re still energetically engaged with that form. Take some topic or area of experience you feel you are complete with but that still seems to be appearing in your reality from time to time. Make note of both your internalized and externalized behaviors around it. Do you have an elevation of mental chatter when it resurfaces? Do you sit around talking about it with specific people in your experience? Do you feel tension in your being? Does the field around your body feel sluggish or heavy or more dense when you focus on this topic or subject? Do you get lost in the memory of that experience? Do you still feel elevated negative emotions when you recall the experience? Do you avoid facing certain aspects of the experience?
All of these questions point to the symptoms of unfinished business, a story or belief you have playing out that you may feel you’re complete with consciously but still have an unconscious or subconscious relationship with. To keep interacting with the energy of the old is to keep recreating your moments from that energy. How do you move through, swim through, flow through or float out of this?
You want to take a look at how you currently interface with that experience. Awareness is always a good starting point. Ask yourself – “what is the situation? What does it bring up for me? What emotions?” Name the emotions. “What physiological changes?” Notice it. Record it. “What does the balance of my thinking become?” Make note of that. Take a look at the structure of your internal world as you relate to that situation. You want to take a look at the decisions you make where that experience is concerned, the emotions you cycle and run, the silent stories you activate and rehearse within yourself. When you have full awareness of what you have been doing in relation to that experience, you can begin to make different choices, you can begin to make different decisions. If the impulse to talk about it again comes up, you’ll decide not to do that. If a memory comes up carrying an emotional charge, you’ll face it fully and dissipate whatever trapped emotion you’ve been dragging about with you since the triggering event. You stop making it matter, and when you stop making it matter within your own being, it will stop materializing in your environment, in your personal reality. So take notice – what are you making matter? Is it something you want to keep materializing in your reality? Observe. Question.
