Your subconscious mind houses the source of your automatic patterns of thinking and feeling. Anytime you learn something new about yourself, others, and the world or Universe, you internalize that new learning and incorporate it into your worldview and belief system. By storing information at the subconscious level, you create subconscious programs — emotionalized thoughts that feel like felt truths you hold about yourself, others, and the world. Your belief system, perceptual habits, and preferences all stem from these stored subconscious mental programs. Everything you hold to be true about yourself, others, and the world come from the beliefs you have stored at the subconscious level.
This inherent process of storing information subconsciously makes your ability to process and navigate the diverse areas of life efficient. The human mind is one of the most efficient information-processing systems on the planet — not even quantum computers can keep up with how quickly and efficiently the human brain and mind process, sort, and store information.
Creating these subconscious programs automatically allows you to perform various functions in your day-to-day experience. Your habitual reactions and responses, your way of relating and connecting to others and yourself, and your habitual ways of interpreting your experiences come from your stored subconscious programs.
Every single belief is a packet of information vibrating at a specific frequency. A belief is an electromagnetic waveform composed of thought currents and emotional tones. Uplifting beliefs about yourself, others, and the world typically leave you feeling good. These beliefs combine constructive or life-affirming thoughts and good feeling emotions.
Positive beliefs are the source of feeling loved, being loving, having healthy relationships, feeling capable, having physical energy, and feeling like you can impact and influence your life experiences and achieve your goals and dreams — the positive energy that positive beliefs allow you to access fuels your life experiences each day. When you want to raise your vibration and frequency, one of the first places to look is modifying or updating your subconscious mind so that you are operating from positive or life-affirming beliefs about yourself, others, and the Universe.
How to Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind
You can update your subconscious programs and embody a positive mindset — a positive mindset and a positive vibration are directly linked. You can update subconscious beliefs and subconscious habits of thinking through self-awareness and self-regulation with a lot of commitment sprinkled into the mix.
Just as you would update files stored on your computer hard drive or even an external storage device like a USB drive, you can update the information stored in your subconscious. Ultimately that is what beliefs and habits of thought are — they are stored emotionalized bits of information that communicate some premise or some assumption about yourself, others, or the universe.
The gift of consciousness is that as a conscious perceiving system (as a human being), you can consciously evaluate your subconscious programs and create updates. Wherever you find that some stored bit of information about yourself, others, or the world no longer serves you or works for you, or no longer reflects the vibration that you want to be experiencing, you can update that bit of information.
The first step to updating subconscious programming is to become aware of the unconscious program. Self-awareness is always the first step to changing and updating your existing belief patterns. Whether you use structured journaling or work with a qualified professional, giving yourself the ability and space to objectively look at your subconscious habit expands your awareness around that subconscious program. That expanded awareness creates space for you to let go of the old electromagnetic waveform and internalize a new waveform.
Structured journaling that allows you to look at the components of the belief is a very effective method for objectively looking at the current internalized thoughts and feelings you want to modify or update. When you write out what you’re thinking, feeling, and doing, you give yourself a position of self-observation. This new position of self-observation becomes an internal resource that supports your ability to release the old belief and habits of thought and make space for integrating the new thought. This shift begins to raise your vibration because releasing the old subconscious program is releasing an electromagnetic waveform of a specific frequency while internalizing the new better-feeling belief is integrating an electromagnetic waveform of a higher (faster moving) vibration.
When you’re observing yourself and your behaviors, it helps to label your existing responses and reactions as subconscious programs. That act of calling it “an old program” or “a subconscious program” starts to give you some wiggle room in recognizing that you have the choice to update or change that stored bit of data. You’re no longer seeing through the lens of the subconscious program. Instead, you’ve expanded your awareness to start directly looking at the subconscious program and seeing it for what it is.
The next step is internalizing what you want to think and feel through tools like affirmation, hypnosis, and structured journaling. The key to internalizing the new thought and feeling so that it becomes your new felt truth is a commitment to the process of integrating that new electromagnetic waveform. If you’re using affirmations, committing to a daily practice that lasts 60 to 90 days is a great place to start. If using hypnosis, committing to a few sessions, and measuring your level of integration will help you stabilize the new belief.
